SSEAYP BRUNEI 2008

I was at the airport this afternoon to say von voyage to my friend who’s one of the 27 Brunei participants in the SSEAYP 2008. They will be away for the 52 days,, visiting port-of-calls throughout Southeast Asia including Japan, Brunei, Jakarta, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, Manila and back to Japan. The Bruneian delegation will be joining some 350 more people on board Nippon Maru, which is well-known as one of the finest ships in Japan, from Oct 20 until their return to Brunei on Dec 11.
The youth program is dedicated to promoting friendship between Japan and Asean countries through various exchanges on board Nippon Maru. . This year's programme is the 35th year which was initiated in 1974 by the then prime minister of Japan. Through the years, the scope and participation has expanded with the growth of Asean and, consequently witnessing a huge network of alumni.
